Spiritual Direction is an expression of spiritual friendship. In spiritual direction, you will have the opportunity to share your story and be heard. Being heard has the potential to be life transformative. That is the primary task of a Spiritual Director - to listen well.

Spiritual Direction also involves directing your attention to God. “Direction” is less about telling you what to do and more about noticing the movements of God in your life and listening to the invitations He may be making.

My approach to spiritual direction is fairly liturgical. I like to open with Scripture, hold silence, invite you to share, listen, ask questions, speak to anything I notice that might help you connect some dots between what you’re saying and how God is inviting.

The typical cadence for Spiritual Direction is to meet once a month for about an hour. Committing to meet for a year is encouraged. Like the spiritual journey, direction is slow and generally facilitates a slowing down of the pace of life. It may take time to settle in to a relationship with a director and discern its true value.
